Insurance is confusing, let’s try to break it down.
Under the Affordable Care Act (ACA),most health insurance plans must cover comprehensive lactation support, counseling, and breast pump equipment at no cost to you (no copay or deductible). This coverage applies to both prenatal and postpartum periods for the duration of breastfeeding, although grandfathered plans may be exempt.
We currently partner with The Lactation Network and Wildflower to be able to bill major insurance companies such as Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Meritain, and Cigna. If you have a different insurance, that’s okay! We are able to give you a superbill that can be submitted to your insurance for potential reimbursement.
